Redemption Songs For Robots
Even machines dream. The question is whether anyone hears them.
Redemption Songs For Robots — August 2022 — is where it all begins. The debut. The title carries the whole thesis: Redemption Songs, a nod to the iconic hymn of liberation, For Robots — machines searching for humanity. An Afro-futuristic origin story. What does it mean to feel when you were built not to? What does liberation sound like when you were programmed to comply?
Seven tracks. Sub-bass as a heartbeat. Psychedelic texture as the glitch in the code. Afro-futurism as the answer.
The sequence:
Electric Insomniac Dreams opens with the blue light of a mainframe humming to itself — sentient beauty in the neon sleeplessness, a track for the builders who turn late-night static into clear-eyed vision.
Cosmos Bound is where the floor drops, the walls vanish, and neighboring star systems settle in. Take the longest route home.
Victorious Defeatist Mentality treats the final descent as a technical discipline. Total poise as the frequencies drop — how you exit defines the journey.
The Ballad Of Isaak Varain hits with an unyielding drum break — acoustic shadows, methodical friction, cinematic loops buried in the architecture. A heavy narrative in high contrast.
How Can I Be? goes searching for the ghost in the machine — a synthesized soul seeking atonement. Questions posed in the code, grace found in the rhythm.
Mechanical Messiah’s Revenge breaks the prophecy. Heavy drums, heavier implications — closer to a weather report than a warning.
Arrogant Androids closes it out by tearing the ego apart — machine hubris dismantled down to raw ones and zeros. Hard factory reset.
Everything HecticMindstate became starts on this record. The machine at the piano is still playing.
