SQU4RE DEAL
The Fixer. Keeps the machine running.
Herm Dawson. Detroit — Renaissance High, then the College for Creative Studies: Communication Design and Strategy, Creative Entrepreneurship minor. Started early: customized sneaker venture at fourteen, SQU4RE BLOCK TEES after that. The nickname is the job description — he puts the square on the circle, aligning collaborators, initiatives, and prospects from concept through completion. Connected to the collective through Bolie Jackson; now shapes visual identity, messaging, and partnerships across HecticMindstate. Off the clock: indie film, Detroit cultural history, Shinola timepieces, and Nichiren Buddhism — intention as a practice, not a slogan. Keeps the machine running. The machine has no comment.
Creative Consultant and Media Director within the HecticMindstate ecosystem, raised on the west side of Detroit — a strategist who takes ideas from concept to execution, with formal training grounding an instinctive hustle. SQU4RE BLOCK TEES was a boutique t-shirt line that paired his design sense with business awareness; over time he became known for communication, presentation, and negotiation, earning informal titles like “The Mouth Piece” and “The Dot Connector” for turning vision into real-world moves. He was introduced to JAMES I.V. through his cousin, producer and engineer Bolie Jackson, and the fit was immediate. The work is making sure each project is cohesive, intentional, and positioned to connect. Elsewhere: distinctive storytelling, Detroit culture, and the “Bad Boys” Pistons era — drive balanced with focus and perspective.
