The Architect. Shapes the sound behind the sound.
A mind wired for music and machinery. Marquette, Michigan → Chicago. Piano and drums at six; electronics not long after. Night-school GED, then DePaul — Philosophy and Ancient Religions, double major, alongside production and engineering. The board is just applied philosophy. At HecticMindstate he’s the core architect behind the glass: engineering and shaping records for independent artists, with work reaching television, film, and video games. Analog warmth, classic drum machines, modern precision — drawn from technology, funk, science fiction, and retro media. Every sound you hear passed through his hands first. He’s checked.
Chicago-based producer, songwriter, and mixing/mastering engineer. He spent his childhood taking apart electronics to see how they worked — an early blueprint for the way he now deconstructs and rebuilds sound. Technical focus and deep curiosity shape the approach in the studio: detailed, thoughtful, emotionally grounded. His mixes and sound design adapt across mediums, and he thrives on collaboration, constantly exploring new ways to push the craft. A self-described nerd and dedicated studio dweller, he’s as likely to be deep into comics, cult TV, or fringe culture — all of which quietly feed the textures and atmospheres of his sound.
