BOLIE JACKSON

PRODUCER / SONGWRITER / MIXING AND MASTERING ENGINEER

Bolie Jackson is a Chicago-based producer, songwriter, and mixing/mastering engineer with a mind wired for both music and machinery. Originally from Marquette, Michigan, he started on piano and drums at six and spent the rest of his childhood taking apart electronics to see how they worked—an early blueprint for the way he now deconstructs and rebuilds sound.

After earning his GED through night school, Bolie moved to Chicago to attend DePaul University, double-majoring in Philosophy and Ancient Religions while studying music production and engineering. That blend of technical focus and deep curiosity shapes his approach in the studio: detailed, thoughtful, and emotionally grounded.

At HecticMindstate Music, Bolie is a core architect behind the board, engineering and shaping projects for a range of independent artists. His work extends into television, film, and video games, where his mixes and sound design adapt seamlessly across mediums. He thrives on collaboration and is constantly exploring new ways to push his craft.

A self-described nerd and dedicated studio dweller, Bolie is drawn to technology, funk, science fiction, and retro media. His setups often merge analog synths, classic drum machines, and modern software, allowing him to fuse vintage character with futuristic sonics. When he’s not locked into a session, he’s likely deep into comics, cult TV, or fringe culture, all of which quietly feed into the textures and atmospheres of his sound.
